Meet the Principal
Welcome to Lewis Lemon Elementary School!
At Lewis Lemon, we commit to breaking down educational inequities. We believe in building relational trust within our community. We believe in providing a challenging inclusive educational experience for all.
I am honored to be the principal of Lewis Lemon Elementary School. This is my tenth year in Rockford Public Schools. I spent seven of my years as a 2nd grade teacher at Ellis Elementary School. I then became the Dean of Students for Lewis Lemon.
I grew up on the westside of Rockford, on Mulberry Street; therefore, I have an extended level of passion for this community. I am also a product of Rockford Public Schools, graduating from Jefferson High School. I received my Bachelor's of Science majoring in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University. I received my Master's in Arts majoring in Educational Technology from Concordia University. I recently completed my second Master's in Science in Educational Administration.
I am blessed to be a wife and a mother of an amazing 3-year-old daughter, Kennedy. She is truly my pride and joy. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also enjoy traveling the world.
It is my pleasure to serve as your principal this year. I am grateful for our “Dream Team.” We expect GREAT things to take place this school year. I look forward to building partnerships with students, staff, families and the community. I believe building positive relationships with all stakeholders will improve student outcomes. I believe that every student can succeed with the appropriate resources and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give me a call at 815-967-8000.
