Attendance Awareness Month may be ending, but our commitment to student attendance isn't. Supporting attendance is year-round work built on relationships, early intervention, problem-solving & partnership with families. If attendance becomes challenging at any point this year, reach out to your school. We want to work with you. Every month, Your Presence Matters.

When a student is struggling to attend school, there's often more to the story. Good attendance isn't just a school issue; it's a community effort. Families, schools & community partners all play a role in helping students overcome barriers & stay connected to learning. When a student is struggling to attend, the question isn't simply, “Why aren't you here?” It's also, “What is getting in the way, and how can we help?”

Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up! We look forward to connecting with our Lewis Lemon families on Tuesday, October 6, and Thursday, October 8, from 2:45–5:45 PM. This is a great opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, celebrate their progress, and talk about ways we can continue to support their growth.

We’re also offering some fun incentives! Families who attend a conference will be entered into a drawing for one of four household gift baskets, and students whose parent/guardian attends will receive an ice cream sandwich or popsicle the following week! We hope to see you there! 🦁

Help us raise funds for Lewis Lemon by eating at Arby's on Wednesday, September 23rd from 5-8PM. 10% of your order will be donated back to our school.

Absences Add Up

Did you know? Missing just two days of school each month can add up to chronic absence over the course of a school year.

Every absence, excused or unexcused, means time away from learning, relationships and the routines that help students succeed.

The good news? It’s never too late to build stronger attendance habits. If getting to school regularly is becoming difficult, reach out to your school. We’re here to help!

Students who ride a Zūm bus will receive a bus badge that will be attached to their backpack. The badge will be used to check students in and out when they ride the bus and will help families track their student’s bus through the Zūm app.

Please make sure the badge stays attached to your student’s backpack. If your student rides Bus 97, an RPS bus, they will not receive a Zūm badge.
